The Economist interviewed CDDEP friend and collaborator Petra Klepac on optimal vaccination strategies, asking, under what circumstances does it make good economic and epidemiological sense to invest your resources in vaccinating neighboring communities?

January 13th marked a full year since the last reported polio case in India - a major milestone for public health.  Can India take this success to other health challenges in the country, including other vaccine-preventable diseases?  Ramanan Laxminarayan, CDDEP Director and Vice President for Research and Policy at the Public Health Foundation of India, joined CNN-IBN to discuss the issue with Dr. Nata Menabde of the WHO.  Watch below:
