Jyoti Joshi, MD, MSc, is Head -South Asia at the Delhi office of CDDEP. She holds an MD (Community Medicine) from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, India and received a Master’s in Infectious Disease from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. For over 15 years, Jyoti has worked with government and non-government organizations in Asia and has more than a decade-long experience of working with the government (India and United Arab Emirates) on infectious disease surveillance and managing national immunization programs. She has been involved in several new vaccine introductions including Pentavalent, Inactivated Poliovirus vaccine, Rotavirus vaccine and Pneumococcal Conjugate vaccine from desk level planning to program implementation at the field. Jyoti has played a key role in strengthening the Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) Surveillance system in India contributing to improved vaccine pharmacovigilance systems in India.
Dr Jyoti’s research interests include vaccine safety, infectious disease surveillance, health systems research & advocacy and she is involved in several vaccine safety research studies in India.
