At a side event of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Friday, Bill Gates, Lawrence H. Summers and Bank of Botswana Governor Linah K. Mohohlo presented Global Health 2035 , which outlines a new investment framework for drastically reducing mortality rates and improving health in low- and lower-middle-income countries. The report, which was written by the 25-member Lancet Commission on Investing in Health, for which CDDEP serves as Secretariat, was released in December.

Summers, who chaired the commission, said the report presents a once-in-human-history opportunity to reduce rates of both communicable and non-communicable diseases around the globe.
